WEEKEND

On Sunday we had an unusual strong storm ! The chairs flew over the lawn, branches broke, and twigs with or without leaves were flying around.

While we tried to find capitals, countries, continents, cities in alphabetical order, suddenly a policewoman showed up and asked for the responsible. I told her we are all responsible as the office is closed over the weekend and there are only the nurses here.

What had happened branches of one of our trees had fallen on the sidewalk and needed to be removed otherwise nobody could pass. I imagined our men in wheelchairs, or still walking but frail removing the branches ! Sometimes they looked like Arnold Schwarzenegger without muscles, but could hardly hold the basket with biscuits. So we joked with the policewoman who fortunately had a lot of humor !

Isabel who takes care of me came for a a short visit with the little girl she takes all two weeks over the weekend. Inaia is 11 now, and has still difficulties to read and write. She had been taken away from her parents because they were both alcoholics and drugs addicted and neglected the little girl. What a chance she has to spent weekends with Isabel, who takes her on holidays and is really wonderful with the little girl.

When we started our activity in the afternoon, the branches were gone and the sidewalk was clean. This time gymnastics was on the agenda, but I didn't participate. I still do my yoga exercises in the morning when I get up, and it's too much for me to do gymnastics again in the afternoon. So I watched, took pictures, and tried to make them funny again, but I couldn't find the app! Finally, I managed it, and here are two examples!

They all laughed and wanted to know how I had it done, but they didn't recognize themselves !

It was still very windy and quite chilly outside. And that was the end of the weekend.

  1. Hello dear Ingrid, poor little Inaia! Sounds like a blessing that she was taken away from her parents! I bet she appreciates and enjoys the time she spends with Isabel! I am glad people cleaned up after the storm! Your comment about Arnold Schwarzenegger made me smile! :)
I am not a fan of gymnastics or gyms, but I love to walk, I love to swim and although I don't do Yoga or Tai Chi, I am very interested in this and will want to do this very soon!
Thank you so much for sharing your posts! Your photos are great!

  2. Isabel is an angel for Inaia!
Storms are such a pain, we are still cleaning up from all the trees that came down in our yard this past May. Glad the storm you had wasn't any worse.
Your funnies are truly funny...no wonder the peeps didn't recognize themselves.

Sorry I was AWOL for a while, I was over 300 miles away from home, helping my sister who had knee surgery. She's able to do most everything now, thankfully.

  4. The bunny is adorable, in the first picture I thought it was a toy. I'm glad someone else cleared that footpath mess away.

  5. I had an image of the residents all gathered outside clearing up the fallen branch. Very funny.
Isabel is doing a great thing by giving some love and care to the 11 year old.
