1. Do you make an effort to see/hear live music? Last time you went somewhere for the live music?
Yes I love live music when the concert is given by a famous or a real good singer. I have seen besides the French Elvis, twice Elton John, which was funny because the first time I saw him was in his crazy years and the second time he was wearing a suit and was a gentleman ! I have also seen Freddy Mercury, and some famous Italian singers, like Eros Ramazotti. The last concert I have seen was the ABBA's imitators, with two of the original guitarists.
2.According to HGTV the colors of the year for 2026 are mostly decided. Top paint companies declare a color of the year, and decorators will incorporate that into their new year home and room designs. Here's what's on tap in terms of paint trends for 2026 (check out the link here to see photos)
- Sherwin Williams-universal khaki (inspired by heavy canvas and outdoor gear)
- Behr-hidden gem (a confident shade of teal)
- Valspar-warm eucylyptus (a warm sliver tinted green)
- Dutch Boy-melodious ivory (a honey tinted beige)
- Glidden-warm mahogany (a classic brick red)
- Krylon-matte coffee bean
- Clark and Kensington -Hazelnut Crunch (warm reddish-brown)
- Graham and Brown-Divine Damson (cherry red with a subtle violet undertone)
- Dunn and Edwards-midnight garden (the green that works everywhere)
First question-did you know there were so many different paint manufacturers? Which color on the list most appeals to you in terms of your own decorating style? Do you have plans to do any painting in your home in the coming year, and if so might you choose a color from this list?
Living here in "my" castle, the walls are all painted in a beige color, so people can hang up the paintings they want.
Now, forget painting walls, which color name appeals to you most?
If I had to choose colors for my living room I would choose 2 colors
One wall with this color and the others with the color beneath
and hang up very colorful paintings which is my style,
3. What's something in your life you have to do-watch-or participate in that's about as exciting as 'watching paint dry'?
I love to write and paint. For both I have still difficulties, since Rick passed away and I lost all my creativity. I hope it will come back. But I still love to work with photos.
4 . Tuesday, October 14th is/was National Dessert day...did you/will you celebrate? Tell us how? What's your absolute favorite dessert. Yes, just one. I know!!
I am not a fan of desserts, but I love fruit salad with a bit of ice cream and whipped cream !
5. Perhaps today is the day I will
do nothing special, it's not my day !
6. Insert your own random thought here.
Since a few weeks, I feel unusually tired, even after a good night's sleep. and I think it is a hallmark of seasonal depression, a nice gift from my father himself and at least 3 members of his family. This illness is hereditary.
The whole family was a bit strange when I think about it now. I remember that my aunt, his sister, in a crisis (which my two cousins and I didn't really understand) locked herself in the kitchen and threw the keys out the window and the three of us girls had to look for the keys.
Lately I started to think more and more about my childhood and sometimes I find a reason why I have certain reactions. Last year I suffered too, it was the second year of Ricks passing, but it was supportable. This year it seams to me that it will be stronger, so I try to distract myself as much as possible !

Dear Ingrid, I also struggle with depression. Both of my parents did as well. I totally understand. I really like the colours you chose.
ReplyDeleteYou are a very talented lady.
You look beautiful and elegant in your red and white outfit. ♥️
You have a lovely smile. I also love those paintings. They are vibrant and cheerful.
The fruit salad looks delicious, wholesome and refreshing.
Thank you so much for sharing.
I like the colours you would choose for your room. I didn't recognise any of those paint manufacturers - I suppose they're all American.
ReplyDeleteWow to seeing Freddie Mercury sing live! I would have loved to have seen that.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get your creative spark back.
Sending love and hugs. It sounds like you are having a bit of a rough time. I hope you feel more rested soon.
I'm with Kim on seeing Freddie Mercury perform live. I would have liked to have seen Queen when they were in their heyday but never did. Hope you get some rest and can keep the depression at bay. Take care.
ReplyDeleteThose a big and highly enjoyable names you have watched perform. I'm told the Queen show, featuring the stand in Freddie, is very good. Maybe that could be another show for you to watch? SAD seasonal affective disorder is quite common these days. I do think you have the right track though. Keep busy and enjoy life here and now. I like fruit salad, and sometimes with ice cream but generally on its own.
