AWWWW MONDAY - WEEKEND JANUARY 3

WEEKEND

After the exhausting festivities at the end of the year, we had a "free" weekend. What was actually exhausting was all the delicious food and then the numerous visitors.

We were happy to finally get together for a game at 3 pm and discovered that nothing had been prepared. I then asked around when I ran into the new girl, and she told me that no activities were planned. I told her she could have at least informed us.

So I took over her role and asked which game we would prefer. Everyone was for bingo. We pushed the tables together, got the game out, and in the end, there were 18 of us who happily participated. The new girl with the hard-to-remember name, Ranuka, was probably annoyed that we played even without her.

The girl from the kitchen brought us coffee and cake, and it was as nice as ever. It was cold outside and it snowed and our park looked beautiful.

Sunday was the same, except people came on their own, knowing we would still be playing something even without the animator.

Ranuka, whom I asked if she had organized anything, just ignored me and walked on, saying only "no." She was really angry. I was too, and wanted to know where she had gone. Unfortunately, I ran into a nurse everyone hated, whom I had nicknamed Dragon. She was really unfriendly when she was alone with the poor old people. One day she wanted to draw my blood at 7 a.m. she had gone to the wrong room.

Unfortunately, instead of a sweet, shy old lady, she encountered a fury who threw her out and told her she had made a mistake and she was in the wrong room. She almost had a heart attack and turned as red as her fake red hair. Of course, I reported it, and since then, she has been very friendly to me. Anyway, we had a heated argument, and I left the room, telling her that I was the client and she only a nurse. I don't know if she has exploded. I returned to our group and we did what we had done the day before. I told them what had happened with the Dragon and they all had problems with her, then we made jokes and we were a very funny (and loud) group ! Everybody wanted to play Bingo again, because it is easy even for those who are a bit mentally handicapped. This time some visitors joined our group and that was even more fun. Betty the most important person besides our very friendly (female) manager was happy that we were occupied and regretted that she had too much work otherwise she would have joined us.

Outside it snowed again and somebody suggested to make a snowman tomorrow ! From us I don't think that we are still capable, but the staff certainly is.

So was our entrance into the New Year !

Below is the only dog in the world (I believe) who is not afraid of firework, no he stands up to look out of the window and watch it !!And it was a rather loud and long lasting one !

Leia my son's dog watching firework in Amsterdam !

  1. Dear Ingrid, your photos are beautiful! Bingo can be such fun! So sorry to hear about the incident with that nurse. Reporting it was the best thing to do, as it could happen to others as well.

  3. Some staff members seem to not care a whit about what their role is and so on...maybe they need different work! I am glad you stood up to them. That activity girl, if she has nothing planned, then why is she even there??

Good for you for making sure everyone had a good time!

Leia is a brave girl!! Our first dog didn't seem upset by fireworks, rather he would bark and growl at them, LOL!

    Happy New Year to you!!
