John Lennon's home
During my trip around the UK, we stopped in Liverpool to see a little bit of the Beatles. We went into the museum, and also in the "The Tavern" where they started their career. It was so loud that I went out, but my friend stayed a bit and danced with the others !
I was a bit surprised to see John Lennon's house, where he grew up. I had always heard that it was in a poor neighborhood, but that wasn't true at all; the area wasn't poor at all, and his house looked nice too!

ReplyDeleteIf you remember, after you took that tour, we did the same tour and yes, everyone assumed Lennon was poor working class, when if fact he just had a Liverpudlian accent.

I think a lot of myths evolve around poor boys making good. Lovely you got to see the Beatles world first hand.
