WEEKEND 

Saturday it was real cold, humid, foggy and windy. My son and family wanted to come and visit me, but when I saw the weather forecast, I told him not to come, as the roads were slippery and too dangerous to drive. We can see each other on the telephone screen too. 

We spent the afternoon with playing UNO, apparently it's one of our favorite games.

On Sunday when I opened my eyes I saw the roof of the house just in front where we keep tools and furniture, white ! it had snowed. Unfortunately it didn't last long and in the afternoon the grass was green again.

A priest used to live there, and later it was a daycare for disabled men; their wives brought them there and then went to work. Now 3 of our cats sleep in there when it is cold or it rains. 

At noon the snow was gone.

We were in the warmth around two big tables and played Bingo. We laughed a lot and forgot that it was awful outside. Our Bingo is cute, it's a little thing with little balls, but it works very well we were 19 ! I won twice. We play with buttons !

WEEKEND 

 Poor people who have to work, the whole week it was dry, no rain, and of course Saturday morning, cats and dogs fell from haven. Nobody wanted to go out and the whole day we had light like in the beginning of the evening.

Fortunately we had a nice game, called "correct or not" and that was quite funny. Two girls of our group were sick, one even had to be hospitalized. Fortunately the hospital is very close. She came back on Saturday, still looking white lite a blanket, but she felt better. Apparently she has some troubles with her stomach. 

Sunday it was even worse. It was dark all day, and we had to turn on the lights. Kim, our activity leader, had brought his dog, a very friendly one, ​​named Lychee, and she ate so well during lunch, because everyone wanted to feed her. She lay stretched out on the floor resting while we found quotes with fruits and vegetables, like "red as a tomato"... 

Then the afternoon was already over, and before I went to my room, I visited Jacqueline, who was lying on her bed. She had balance problems and wasn't allowed to get up. 

 

 PS. I completely forgot that I should have celebrated that three years ago on November 15 I moved into "my" castle !!! Time goes by so quickly!

WEEKEND 

It's still typical November weather and we are all looking forward that December starts. 

In the afternoon fortunately we made a game with just carton mugs and paper. You had to take turns building a tower with the cups and the paper. Most people managed two, some three, I even managed four, and our entertainer E. almost got to six before the tower collapsed. We had a lot of fun watching people try so hard and make funny faces.  

While drinking coffee, we exchanged the latest rumors that were floating through the castle corridors.

On Sunday it was rather cold and I didn't feel like bundling up and going for a walk in the park. Instead, I organized my photos and tidied my closet.

No one was there for our animation this time, although they are three.. Someone had messed up the planning. I have to ask why. But I suggested to everyone to come anyway, and we'd played UNO together. That worked out great, we had fun, and the kitchen brought us coffee and cake. The visitors watched us, and it was a cheerful atmosphere.

In the evening, I watched the news, but it's always the same miseries in every country, so I went to bed and watched Korean short films on Facebook. They're hilarious, always the same story: a rich man (usually the richest in the world) is looking for a woman who would love him even if he were poor. So he disguises himself as a poor man, naturally finds a girl, and after many twists and turns, there is a happy end. On top of that, some of the women can do magic, and there is also always a very wicked woman who tries to destroy the couple's happiness with her intrigues.

The old ceremony clothes are beautiful. A bit like the Chinese.

WEEKEND 

On Saturday I went to the theater here in Waterloo with a friend.

There's a cultural program for seniors 60 and older at a very reasonable price of €7! And since there are quite a few oldies in Waterloo, there are four performances scheduled over two days. The first performance was at 2 p.m. and the second at 5 p.m. We got a very nice seat at 2 p.m. The play was called "La Grammaire" and was set in a family who wanted to speak French correctly and were constantly discussing the grammatical errors. It was very funny, and the whole audience laughed. The actors stay in Waterloo for a while and perform it for the "regular" audience. We all left laughing, and everyone said it was a really beautiful play.

I returned home right at coffee time and stayed until we all went to our rooms. I was very happy with my day, it really cheered me up. 

Sunday was my "beauty" day, and the chiropodist arrived just in time. The poor girl had her tonsils taken out, which is very painful for an adult. 

Now my toes are good cared for again. In the afternoon, we did a rather difficult quiz because the questions were quite abstract. For example, how can electricity, water, and air be transported together? After a long while, the answer finally : a "tube." Our heads were spinning. 

Over coffee, I learned what had become of the woman who was still very beautiful and had a Madonna-like face. 

Unfortunately she has her beautiful eyes closed which starred at you without seeing you. She reminded me of Rick in his last days. 

She never spoke, but whenever she saw me, she tried to smile. She had the final stages of Alzheimer's and had (finally) died. She passed away peacefully and hadn't suffered. That's the most important thing. In her life she had been a famous model.

WEEKEND

On Saturday it was cold again, it's really to get crazy, in months where it should be still warm it is cold and the other way around. I didn't need anything and as it was also windy which is not good for my lungs, I stayed home and just did a very short walk through our park. the leaves are still green only a few once start to get yellow 

Those who made a walk picked up the typical fall signs and decorated our restaurant. 

while the others played a game which several of us didn't like, we chatted together and Mr. I know everything wanted to explain the chemical composition of I don't remember what, but this time nobody wanted to listen so he left us and was angry, while we had a nice time without chemical formulas On Sunday the sun was shining and it also was quite warm but not enough to sit outside. I did my little walk and then quickly got inside to warm me up.

This time we played cards. And that was really nice because we all were on the same level concerning our brains and not (yet) affected with dementia.  

Something has changed because there only were 3 brain damaged persons, but they slept. I think the renovation on the 4th floor where the more serious cases, like Alzheimer's or other diseases are, remain in the closed ward upstairs. It might not be nice to say we're happy about that.

and here we played cards maybe you know the game  UNO, it's not difficult but funny. The afternoon went by quickly and then it was time for supper.

WEEKEND

Unfortunately  we had a lousy weather over the weekend ! There was everything on the menu, rain, wind, cold, dark clouds, white clouds, sunshine, thunder etc result, we had to stay inside

Luckily, we enjoyed a fun game and then had a good laugh over coffee time. My friend J had informed me that a new pair of lovers had been formed : my neighbor, who lives next door to me with her husband, has fallen in love with a "young man" of 98, whom we call Mr. Wikipedia because he wants to share his knowledge with everyone, even if it doesn't interest us. He used to be a physics, chemistry, and math teacher, all subjects I hate.

Anyway, my neighbor listened to him with wide eyes, and we noticed that she was wearing makeup for the first time!  J. also reported me that they were 3 sitting at the same table at lunch time, she, her husband and the new love. The husband was annoyed and ranted; the couple, both hard of hearing, sipped their soup and smiled lovingly at each other.

My friend and the others had a great time. The husband quickly disappeared after the meal, while she followed her new love in her wheelchair.

I saw them in the afternoon he showed her something on his tablet which he only can use for showing photos. Suddenly the husband showed up after an hour and looked for his wife and then they argued again, the husband gave up and returned in his room. I hope he will not try to come into mine, which had happened once when he suddenly showed up and declared that he wants to stay with me, because his wife is naughty. I pushed him out of my room and told him that he is in the wrong room. Then I closed my door. This couple is here already a long time, nobody likes them and they are very rude with the staff. 

Sunday it was even colder and we played several games, my group played cards.  Those who weren't in the mood played another game, and those who were quite brain-damaged built towers with wooden blocks. It was a good idea, to play different games and everyone was happy. Our Nightingale wanted to sing again, but we were able to stop her.

Afterwards, I thought that I was meeting so many interesting people and I am never getting bored. One of the people who played cards with us was a cemetery administrator and could tell us incredible anecdotes

WEEKEND 

 I had a nice warm and sunny weekend. There was no activity this weekend, because Kim had to be hospitalized, and we don't know what he has exactly. Taysir had the weekend off, the poor girl had worked non stop for 9 days. 

But it was nice to be together and to talk about the past, how Waterloo was, 50 years ago and how it is today. Most of the residents are from the area where the castle stands had played as children in the park and knew the same bakery and neighbors when they were still working. One was working alone in the little post office, which of course doesn't exist anymore and she was now with us and remembered a few old customers who are now residents here. 

one of our physiotherapists had brought his 4 month old "baby" a little Golden Retriever, to present him to us, of course he was the attraction for all of us and the little guy sniffed all legs and landed on several laps. 

Sunday it was also very nice and I decided to make a long walk around the park, but then I landed on the balcony of Therese, she was lucky when she choose her room, it was the one with a nice balcony. When I arrived it was occupied otherwise I had taken this one.

 

   

As she was sitting outside I joined her and we chatted together, I don't know her very well yet, she is only 77 and has a beginning of Alzheimer. Therefore her family didn't want that she stays alone in her apartment because she didn't feel safe there anymore she feared that she would forget to switch off the gas or other things. It was very nice to talk to her, she is only here since a month but she loves it here, she is feeling safe and at home. Then we joined the others on the terrace for our coffee.
