AWWW MONDAY

63 years ago, when I was 20, I got my first cat. This was Piccola, black from head to tail here on the right. She lived 20 years with me and shared all important events in my life. She choose my husband, she watched over the Baby when I became mother she moved 3 times with me, and was a real special cat.

During the time I was without my dashboard I downloaded from my albums all the cats who had shared my life. There was Max, a silver tabby,  besides him a Calico cat named Mitzi, Arthur 1 (the little one ) who died after one year from a heart attack, I found him in front of the kitchen door. Rick was so sad, that we went the next day to the shelter nearby and asked for a white cat, fortunately just at the same time we arrived, came a boy with a box in which was Arther 2 ! Rick took him out of the box and immediately disappeared outside. I had to fill in the papers swear that we would go to the vet and have him spayed in 6 month. Rick was so happy. The tortoise called Lisa, unfortunately got sick and died at only 15. And last but not least came Rosie, who will be 20 next year and who is still with me..

and these two are English girls from London, Pookie and Kim. They belonged to my son. When he had to work in Amsterdam for 3 months (!) he asked us if we could keep them, as Kim couldn't get used to a life inside and refused to eat. Of course we said yes. 16 years later they were still with us ! They got so used to our house and us that we couldn't give them back. Anyway Kim who had  an elephant's memory, would hide every time my son came over! She sensed it days in advance; I think she must have been a fortune teller in a past life.

  4. What a wonderful history of kitties that you have loved and that have loved you. I didn't know about Arthur 1. So sad, but Arthur II made all the difference. Beautiful.

  5. You've done something new with your castle Header that is fantastic as is your lifelong love of cats. And what a good job Piccola did in choosing your husband. :)

  6. Nice to hear all about your kitties, past and present! Spirou is a sweet pup, so nice for your friend to have him. We have had 6 kitties over the years, and hubby had three before I came into his life, I met two of them...briefly! They 'flew away' before we got married...then after that we got our first together kitty, he lived with us about 18 years. Longer than any of the others, and he outlived three kittens he mentored. Our last kitty was not quite 16 when he flew off to the RB. Now we have dogs...who did meet Pipo for a few months.

It's great to know you are 'back in business' with your blog once again.

  7. Those are mighty fine feline companions you have and have had. They are, I think, an essential part of a household, and bring so much joy.
AI surely does help keep and bring memories to life. That has to be a great thing as we get older. So a blog outage has a true upside 🙂
