FRIDAY's FAVE FIVE

We had a nice week ! The weather was wonderful and we could sit outside almost the whole week.

The games were nice, as this one, but I forgot the name.

That was an interesting game; we had to pull out the wooden blocks without the whole tower collapsing. We managed it and were very proud because it wasn't easy! After that we got little cakes and coffee.

This is André, who reminds me of my grandpa,  he is licking his fingers. His belly looks like he has swallowed a football (soccer).

On Wednesday we celebrated the birthday of all those who were born in April. This time, our housekeeper's 13-year-old daughter sang. At first, I was a little skeptical, but it turned out that the girl sang better than all the older singers we had had before, and because of them I didn't always attend the birthday parties. They sang ancient songs and seemed to have forgotten that our generation was the same as the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Elvis, etc.

She even sang Amy Whinehouse which was not easy at all !

and then we ate the birthday cakes which tasted delicious.

I didn't go out at all this week and found something new ! My son had sent me our old Wedding picture in black and white, colored and it looked like new. I googled how I could do that too. It took me some time until I found the right AI program and here are my results. I don't know how the AI found the right colors I hadn't given any instructions but my blouse had exactly these colors ! I have to admit that I was quite proud of the result.

As Friday was the first of May we had a day off. I mean the people who work, it was a holiday. The use in Belgium and France is, that you offer a Lilly of the Valley to your friends, neighbors, family etc.
We all got one, and as I had no vase, I just put it in a beer bottle, that's modern art !

  1. OOH...you played Jenga! We used to host game nights and would play that when our girls were little.
    Fun times!!
How fun to have the 13 yr old come and sing. The video you posted wouldn't work for me but i'm guessing it was her singing?
    Happy Weekend!

  2. Dear Ingrid, I have never played Jenga. I did play pick up sticks when I was a little girl.
That 13 year old girl has a lovely voice.
Beautiful photos, dear friend, both black and white and colour.
    The birthday cakes look delicious.
I love Lily of the Valley.

  3. The photos turned out so well. I still like the black and white too.
The performer sounds very talented and may be heading for a career on the stage.

  6. We have played Jenga before - the worst part is getting all the pieces back in the box lol. Those pictures turned out well - I'm sure you had fun working out how to do that. A nice way of celebrating everyone's birthdays - the young girl sang well. We have a holiday here on Monday for May day - always the first Monday of May rather than the 1st. Have a good weekend. We have had sunshine all week but rain is forecast for later today. (Saturday)

  8. I don't think I would be any good at that top game! That selection of cakes looks wonderful. Those colorized photos are so cool! We don't celebrate May Day here. The lilies of the valley are so pretty--it's nice that giving them is a custom.

  9. What a good week you had! Maybe the best is that the weather was warm and sunny.
Those little cakes look delicious. I might be licking my fingers, too.
That 13yr old girl has a lovely voice.
Happy May Day to you and enjoy the flowers in the beer bottle!

  10. Wow, you did very well, and the results speak for themselves. I guess the AI checks the shades of grey and makes a darn good guess as to what they were in real life as it were.
The modern art is fab, truly inspired and practical. Do sell it on to the Tate gallery!

  11. Wow, you guys made a lovely pair. You did a great job with the pictures. So glad you could get out and enjoy the sunshine and spring weather. Sounds like you had fun playing jenga. I haven't played that in years.
