Le Cercueil, (the Coffin) is a legendary bar 15 meters from Brussels' Grand-Place, it has celebrated its 50th anniversary. I think I was 20 when I went there with friends for the first time. It is very special and has a mysterious atmosphere. Coffin tables, skeletons, framed photos and skull-shaped mugs create a unique, macabre and cosy atmosphere.

The drinks also have special names like "Demon's sperm, supreme of the corpse, Elixir of the Virgin, velvet of the Devil etc"
The jugs are skulls.

That sounds so cool. I'd like to visit.
ReplyDeleteI'd have to be in the right frame of mind to go there.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun place. I would love to go there. How fun.
ReplyDeleteI linked this post to my Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week. Scritches to Rosie. ♥
This would be a fun Halloween place to visit and have a beer!
ReplyDeleteIt looks fabulous, but would they also serve soft drinks and water?
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a really different place. I've only been to the Roi d'Espagne, the place with the stuffed horse.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. How awful, but I can see how the young would appreciate the macabre. There is a trend it seems to such things in movies and books, so why not bars?
ReplyDeleteNot my scene though.
