WEEKEND
Unfortunately we had a lousy weather over the weekend ! There was everything on the menu, rain, wind, cold, dark clouds, white clouds, sunshine, thunder etc result, we had to stay inside
Luckily, we enjoyed a fun game and then had a good laugh over coffee time. My friend J had informed me that a new pair of lovers had been formed : my neighbor, who lives next door to me with her husband, has fallen in love with a "young man" of 98, whom we call Mr. Wikipedia because he wants to share his knowledge with everyone, even if it doesn't interest us. He used to be a physics, chemistry, and math teacher, all subjects I hate.
Anyway, my neighbor listened to him with wide eyes, and we noticed that she was wearing makeup for the first time! J. also reported me that they were 3 sitting at the same table at lunch time, she, her husband and the new love. The husband was annoyed and ranted; the couple, both hard of hearing, sipped their soup and smiled lovingly at each other.
My friend and the others had a great time. The husband quickly disappeared after the meal, while she followed her new love in her wheelchair.
I saw them in the afternoon he showed her something on his tablet which he only can use for showing photos. Suddenly the husband showed up after an hour and looked for his wife and then they argued again, the husband gave up and returned in his room. I hope he will not try to come into mine, which had happened once when he suddenly showed up and declared that he wants to stay with me, because his wife is naughty. I pushed him out of my room and told him that he is in the wrong room. Then I closed my door. This couple is here already a long time, nobody likes them and they are very rude with the staff.
Sunday it was even colder and we played several games, my group played cards. Those who weren't in the mood played another game, and those who were quite brain-damaged built towers with wooden blocks. It was a good idea, to play different games and everyone was happy. Our Nightingale wanted to sing again, but we were able to stop her.
Afterwards, I thought that I was meeting so many interesting people and I am never getting bored. One of the people who played cards with us was a cemetery administrator and could tell us incredible anecdotes

Dear Ingrid, I love all your photos and the cats are beautiful! Rosie is lovely, and a great age! 19! The oldest that any of my cats lived were 14. I have had cats most of my life and I just love them! Their company, their purr, their warm presence, it is so great to have a pet! Right now I have two male zebra finches. My last cat, Romeo, who was a black and white Tuxedo cat, (they call them tuxedo because they look like they are wearing a Tuxedo). was euthanized at the tender age of 10 and a half. He was sweet, active, just a great cat, but sadly he got anaemia and it broke my heart so much, dear Ingrid.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, a year and a half later, I decided to purchase two male zebra finches. I didn't want to go through the pain of losing another cat, and I had lost many in my 68 years, as I had cats since I was just 6 years old.
I am sorry you have had such bad weather. I am very happy that you got to enjoy some company and activities indoors! I laughed when you spoke of Mr. Wikipedia! I think each one of us knows someone like this, so it is relatable. Yes, I hate those subjects as well! It sounds like a romance is budding between these two. :)
Dear Ingrid, I love that you are feisty and able to put someone out of your room as you did with this gentleman! Good for you! I am so happy that you are never bored and that you are enjoying life. This makes me very happy!
Thank you for your kind comment. Rosie is also a Tuxedo and my neighbor is every thing else then a gentleman ! He has killer eyes, although I have never met a killer, at least I think so !
DeleteDoes this mean that Rosie is no longer with you? Or just that she no longer plays with the other cats? Are the others your cats or do they belong to other people?
ReplyDeleteThe other couple who are fighting and rude would annoy me too.
Rosie is my last cat and lives with me here, she is the darling of all residents. The other 3 died of course not all at the same time before the Covid , but they all were 19 to 20 years old.
DeleteOh, eine alte Katzenlady 🐈 Wie wunderbar! Und tatsächlich sieht sie fröhlich und munter aus. Freut mich sehr!
ReplyDeleteLiebe Grüße von Heidrun
I hope you can lock your door to stop unwanted visitors coming in.
ReplyDeleteOf course I lock my door, when I am going out during the night. There is a nurse during night to check if we are still alive, but I told him that it is not necessary with me. Now he knocks I answer "good night, everything OK" , but at the beginning he opened the door and my reflex was taking the next thing which I could get, which was a metal tray, and he nearly got it at his head. Ever since I can sleep in peace. Of course I explained him why I reacted so.
DeleteOh such a sweet kitty ~ great photos ~ hugs,Happy Week to you ~ ^_^

Awww on the kitties. I didn't know Rosie was that old either. She sure doesn't look it.
ReplyDeleteYikes on the awful couple. I can see why they aren't liked.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches to Rosie. ♥
The weather is most fickle now autumn is here. I often think people are worse, and certainly humans have changed the environment so maybe fickle weather is nature paying us back. Hopefully the young love birds and husband issue will settle down soon.
