We have a terrible week behind us ! It was so hot during 3 days, in some places 40°C which had never happened. In our park there were "only" 34°C but it was impossible to sit outside. And of course there is no air condition in our castle except in the restaurant.
On Monday the weather was rather cool compared to the following days, so I went to Laure who had been in England visiting her son who had bought a house outside London, which dated from 1700 and something and nothing could be changed, it was classified.
I knew all kind of houses in the UK, old and new, through my friend Anne.
My head was spinning as I tried to imagine the house. The rooms were tiny by Belgian standards, I myself had already noticed that. It was in a very beautiful location with a view of the Thames. But she had forgotten the name. It took her 1 1/2 h to get to the center of London.
The only thing I understood was that there were four floors, and the dog slept in the entrance hall because he had difficulties climbing the stairs and had to be carried. He was a sweet Golden Retriever weighing almost 50 kg. But the house was very romantic and cozy.
We both had to laugh, because my son also has such a strange house, with four floors and tiny rooms, only he lives in Amsterdam, and the house is a new build, not romantic and not cozy. In both cases they were not practical at all. But both boys love their houses.
On Tuesday the temperature had raised to 33°C. I had promised my friend Jeanine that we would buy a fan with her. Which we did. The car was nice and cool, and so was the store.
Suddenly I noticed that my mobile phone wasn't working anymore. The salesman explained to me that mine was too old and only worked if there was WIFI in a room.
We then drove home and sat under the cool trees, were served ice cream and coffee, while the others preferred to stay in the restaurant and hang in their wheelchairs or chairs . They had put the seriously ill people, who usually live on the third floor,which is closed, but it was too hot. It's so sad to see when someone is nothing at all anymore and can only be fed.
When it had cooled down, and we could finally sit outside on the terrace and played a funny game, we all were happy, too hot is too hot ! 25° is enough !
Before I joined the others I quickly went to the shop ordering my new Smartphone, it's a new one and not expensive at all, therefore it was sold out everywhere. I will get mine on Monday !
The pedicurist came and kidnapped a resident to treat his feet. Everything looks so familiar, you could even go to the hairdresser in your nightgown!
I forgot to mention that our mini golf is being restored and repaired so next Wednesday we can play.
The trees and shrubs have grown and the view is nice and the air good.
