Many parents complain about the brutality in children's movies or books. I don't know what was worse, we grew up with this !
Fortunately, we didn't all turn into criminals; we took the stories for what they were—just stories. It’s probably no different for today’s kids with their Japanese heroes or other heroes.
I enjoyed seeing these illustrations, dear Ingrid. Some good childhood memories here. Yes, they were just stories!
ReplyDeleteThe original versions of fairy tales were really grim! Certainly not suited as bedtime tales for small children.
