Belgium and most of Europe are suffering from the heatwave. The death toll is rising, and hospitals are overcrowded. Most countries didn't really need air conditioning, but if things go on like this, even we—who usually complain about the cold and rain—will have to consider it.
On Saturday, at least, we were able to sit out on the terrace and play a fun game. Kim showed us a picture of a blender, and we had to guess the price! Whoever guessed the correct (or nearly correct) price won. One football fan was still wearing his hat—Belgium vs. Spain.
Dear Ingrid, I love all your photos! The awww Monday pictures with the donkey, swans and cat are adorable! And you look wonderful with your tiger shirt, dear friend! Rosie is comfortable on her bed!
ReplyDeleteYes, we are experiencing the heatwave here in Montreal, Canada as well! Hospital ERs are overcrowded at up to 200% over capacity. It's just terrible!
It is affecting humans, pets and wildlife. And we also have the wildfires in Quebec that destroy trees and the birds and animals that live there. Sometimes homes have to be evacuated for safety reasons.

I hope the temperature is dropping with you, though it wont' be as swift as it is with us in UK. Meanwhile, keep cool, keep well.

ReplyDeleteOh those shoes! My first thought was torture devices, I can't imagine being able to hobble around on those for hours at a time. Thankfully my feet never suffered such indignities.

ReplyDeleteGreat animal images, and the pile of sheep made me grin, my neice is married to a man and his last name is Lam...so when they had a son, he got lots ond lots of little lambs, LOL!
I am sorry that you are suffering so much with colds and such. How miserable. That heat wave (actually a heat dome) is oppressive to say the least. I do hope it abates sooner than later.
We have a lot of days of hot weather like that here, too...and add the humidity and it is awful. Where I work, they had to cancel a lot of outdoor trips and activities on account of the heat.
